Drug and substance abuse is a vice that adversely affects young people in the society and especially in schools. It has killed the potential of many youngsters in schools who would have succeeded and developed their families and societies economically, socially, and even politically. This book discusses the types and sources of drugs and substances of abuse as well as the reasons why students abuse them. It further investigates the effects of drugs and substances of abuse. Lastly, the author takes the readers through suggested remedies to the vice of drug and substance abuse. The book aims at helping the reader acquire knowledge about drug and substance abuse especially in secondary schools. Joseph N. Kisaka is currently a lecturer in the Department of Educational Foundations and Policy Studies at Pwani University, Kenya, where he teaches History of Education, Sociology of Education and Comparative Education. An avid researcher, Kisaka has published several articles on drug and substance abuse.
