Description

Having been tasked with implementation of most policies and priorities in accordance with national development agenda, county governments require quality employees in order to enhance performance. This book is a documentation of analyses on how county governments can utilize recruitment and selection practices for improved employee performance. The author, through inferential statistics consisting of ordered regression analysis, correlation coefficient analysis and structural equation modeling, points out that recruitment and selection processes, person organization fit, and employment policies such as equal employment opportunity, have a direct significant influence on employee performance. She recommends that county governments should enhance their recruitment and selection process through better human resource planning, adoption of appropriate organizational culture and job characteristics. In addition, county governments should make efforts to accurately estimate the person-organization fit of their prospective employees and promote fair employment policies such as equal employment opportunities. This book is relevant to county governments, managers, human resource experts and consultants and policy makers for both public and private institutions.
