Description
Mixed methods design is still a new concept to many researchers and many struggle to design a good mixed methods study. Mixed Methods Research Made Easy is tailored to assist graduate students especially doctoral students who are facing writing of a dissertation and other professionals in the field of research. This book is written in a simplified way with an overview of the qualitative and quantitative research methods to build a foundation to merging both methods in mixed method design. The different types of mixed methods with their variants are presented with illustrations for easy understanding. Factors to consider when choosing a mixed methods design and principles of designing a mixed study are presented with key decisions to put into consideration when deciding on a mixed method. A step-by-step process from introducing mixed methods in the background, identification of a research gap to be addressed, writing mixed methods problem statement, development of mixed methods purpose statement (aims), writing research questions and hypotheses is included. Data collection procedures, analysis and interpretations is discussed with examples. The aim of this book is to provide a simplified resource that provides all the essential information needed to design mixed methods studies or projects.
