Description
This book covers an important subject in Ministry – the work of the pastor and the various aspects that need attention in this critical occupation. It approaches this subject in a practical manner, based on common issues that are prevalent in the pastoral occupation. These are explored in relation to the biblical and Christian theological perspective and with insights from practice in the field. Moreover these issues are covered comprehensively and logically. On the whole, the author has crafted the book in a manner that makes it engaging, easy to read and comprehend, while also intelligently bringing out principles and considerations that govern several areas in pastoral work. The book is clearly relevant to the clergy, as well as scholars, students, the Christian congregation and policy makers. In other words, it has a wide variety of applications in the contemporary world. More importantly, the author has seriously engaged with contemporary issues in this era of post modernity (with the prevalence of the internet, the mass media, popular culture, consumerism and changing lifestyles). This is, therefore, a much needed text in today’s church and in the preparation for clerical work in the ministry.
