ICT CAKE boldly delves into four critical areas in which ICTs provide an opportunity for the country’s populace, especially the youths, to guide in choice of ICT careers. These are: ICT in Education, ICT Careers, ICT and Entrepreneurship and finally Web Technologies that empowers all these. Little information is available that is well packaged especially for youths in rural areas, youths out of high schools and those already undertaking courses leading to ICT careers on what opportunities are available for them in this huge field that is touted to change the economic landscaped of the country in the coming decade. Therefore, this book comes at an opportune time to excite and provide direction on what areas lie ahead for the youths wishing to pursue this path. This book will ignite positive views towards the way the young people view ICTs as an alternative means for career development and an opportunity to develop a successful business enterprise. It goes further to outline entrepreneurial perspectives in the ICT field by enumerating some of the available channels one can venture into.

 

Mr. Misoi holds a Master’s degree in Computer Science (Web Information Systems) from Vrije Universitet Brussels, Belgium and B.Sc. in Information Sciences (Information Technology) from Moi University. He is also the ITU youth Fellow 2006 (Hong Kong) and Former Vice President of YCP-ICT/EAC and is widely travelled and involved in several ICT related projects. He is the founder and CEO of DigiTalk Technologies Ltd, a consultancy company involved in providing ICT solutions, Fibre Optics Training, Empowering and Mentoring youths to pursue ICT careers and businesses in Kenya. Misoi is passionate about ICTs and leadership that will go a long way in contributing to the realization of Vision 2030. He is an avid motivational speaker in ICT topics in various forums, schools and colleges.
