Description

Although those advocating for women issues have discussed eradication of female circumcision, not much has been said either on the biblical response or viable substitutes to replace this undying cultural tradition. The values and perspectives that surround this ritual have been the most powerful driving force.

This book discusses the persistence of Female Circumcision, experiences and attitudes of the people towards the ritual and biblical evaluation of the ritual. It also proposes a functional substitute to provide educational void which would otherwise be created.

Dr. Jacob Kibor is currently the principal of Scott Theological College in Machakos, Kenya. He is also the Chairman of the Association for Christian Theological Education in Africa (ACTEA). Dr. Kibor was born and raised in Marakwet District. Prior to joining Scott Theological College, he served as a pastor at Africa Inland Church, Kapsowar, where he saw many Marakwet girls suffer as a result of female circumcision. He earned his PhD from Trinity International University in USA.  He is married to Dr. Esther Kibor. They have two daughters; Faith and Eunice.
