Description

The Agriculture Sector Strategic Plan (ASSP) is the overall county policy document for the sub sector departments and all stakeholders in Bungoma County. This document outlines the situational analysis of the sector, strategic issues, objectives, opportunities, vision, mission, mandate, core functions, strategic thrusts and various interventions that the sector needs to undertake in the next 5 years. In this strategy, we have prioritized the strategic issues mainly affecting the sector and explored the possible strategic objectives and strategies that could achieve the objectives. The strategic plan focuses on what the ministry intends to accomplish and how it will direct resources to achieve the vision, mission and strategic objectives within the given timeframe. While defining its vision, mission and strategic objectives, the ministry is conscious of the importance of the Agriculture sector to the county sector and the livelihoods of the people of Bungoma County. The ministry therefore endeavors to deliver its function to achieve high economic growth, rapid development and improve people’s livelihoods.
