Description

Resuscitating Kenya: United Nations to the Rescue is a narrative of the events that occurred in Kenya following the disputed general election of December 2007. The narrative is presented from a child’s perspective. Using the analogy and terminology of a health care system, the author explains the events that degenerated into chaos and led to violence claiming the lives of many and displacing others from their homes. This initiative was a response to the depressing information and images that populated both local and international media during the two months of emotional distress in Kenya. The story assumes a therapeutic approach for the citizens of a nation recovering from a difficult ordeal.
