Description

The Inevitable Burden and Other Stories is Bwocha’s first set of short stories. The stories revolve around socio-economic and political issues such as marriage, economic exploitation, HIV/AIDS and its attendant stigma, discrimination based on gender, violence associated with reactionary politics, men neglecting children they sire, and violent overthrows of dictatorial regimes, among other concerns. The work has beautifully blended narration and dialogue to paint a world full of twists and turns in a manner that is exciting to read.

Bwocha Nyagemi Bwocha is a graduate of Kenyatta University, with a B.Ed. in English Language and Literature (2002), and MA in Literature (2008).
